2010 – CCS Announces the hiring of new sales staff - Gilroy
Container Consulting Service, Inc. announces the hiring of William Blu Hawley, a new sales person with our Gilroy office. “Blu brings an astounding amount of print experience to our mix of packaging professionals,” states Will Trefts, General Manager.
William is best known as “Blu”. Blu is a UCSB and Cambridge University graduate whom we are very proud to say is a retired Lieutenant with our United States Air Force, formerly stationed in England. An avid sports fan and bay area resident, Blu has over 14 years of experience in the print industry and specializes in fine lithography commercial printing as well as labels, folding cartons and packaging for the medical industry. He is well versed in all areas of packaging and is a dedicated and conscientious sales person. We are expecting great things from Blu and are very excited that he has become a member of our team here in Gilroy. Please join me in welcoming Blu to CCS.
2010 - CCS announces the hiring of new sales staff – Union City
Container Consulting Service announces the hiring of Randy Alexander and Virgil Quisol, two new sales people. “With their knowledge and experience, we expect to see great things from Randy and Virgil” states Will Trefts, General Manager.
Randy is a “lifer”, having been raised in the packaging industry working with his dad in corrugated plants. He started officially working in the packaging industry while still in high school. Married happily for 23 years with three active, growing teenagers, Randy is involved in soccer, hockey and golf. He is a proponent of “green” packaging and had unparalleled knowledge in reusable packaging. He specializes in design and unique solutions to his customers packaging needs and takes great pride in his service and accessibility. We are proud and pleased to have him with us here at CCS.
Virgil was born in Manila, Philippines. He immigrated with his family here in 1964 and proudly became a U.S. citizen in 1970. Married for over 15 years, Virgil has three delightful daughters. Virgil majored in Industrial design at SJSU and has been in the packaging industry for the last 30 years. He has worked as a packaging designer and in both manufacturing and distribution. Virgil and Randy bring an astounding amount of experience to us here at CCS, covering all aspects of manufacturing, distribution and design. We believe they will be great assets to all of us. 2007 – CCS Announces Hiring New Sales Staff – Gilroy
Container Consulting Service announces the hiring of Ron Schmidt, our newest salesman. “Ron is a long time veteran in the packaging industry and will be a great asset to CCS” states Will Trefts, General Manager.
Born in Paris, France, Ron was an air force baby and has traveled extensively. His family was originally from the Bay Area, which is why he made his home here. Married to his long time sweetheart, he is the proud father of two active teenagers. Ron has a long term sales background with over 16 years in outside sales, the last 8 in packaging distribution. Ron states that he finds the most satisfaction in finding solutions to his customers packaging requirements. Ron is a welcome addition to CCS and we are proud to have him.
2006 Large Business of the Year — Gilroy, CA
When Container Consulting Services (CCS) opened its doors in 1973, they were a one-man shop operating out of a garage. From these humble beginnings, they have grown into the thriving mid-size packaging distributor. Still family-owned and -operated, they are a growing professional workforce of sales, office, and warehouse personnel, and manage a sprawling delivery network covering Northern California.
Their customers range from small startups to Fortune 500 companies in industries as diverse as computer hardware and software, electronics, agriculture, food products, and medical and pharmaceutical. As the company has grown, one thing has remained consistent, and that is a commitment to great customer service. Many of their customers have been with them since they first opened their doors.
Georgia Trefts-Garfink, President of Container Consulting Service, has been a key individual in connecting her business with the community. She served on the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from 2003-2005, also serving as the Chamber representative on the Gilroy Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors. She is currently in her second term as EDC President. Georgia is also active in the Gilroy Rotary Club and Operation Interdependence. With her “can-do” attitude, it is no wonder that Container Consulting Service has become such a success story.
2006 CCS Announces Hiring New Sales Staff — Union City, CA
Container Consulting Service announces the hiring of Darrell Jobe and Marcus Salazar, two new salespeople. “Jobe and Salazar bring youth and enthusiasm to our veteran sales staff in Union City,” notes Georgia Garfink, President.
Darrell Jobe, a relative newcomer to the packaging industry was born in Berkeley and raised in Contra Costa County. He worked in redistribution for a year and a half before coming to CCS.
Marcus Salazar, also new to the packaging industry, was born and raised in Oakland and previously worked in manufacturing and the warehousing of consumer goods.
2005 CCS Acquires Parachute Packaging — Hayward, CA
Container Consulting Service proudly announces the acquisition of Parachute Packaging, Hayward. Several new employees will join CCS — Dan Selvidge, Betty Selvidge, Ralph Redd, Sue O’Leary and Arlen Jenkins. Together, they bring over 140 plus years of packaging experience to CCS. The acquisition includes additional warehouse and office space and a centralized location in the East Bay. CCS runs trucks daily from the Hayward location.
2005 CCS Certified By Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)
Container Consulting Service proudly announes certification in the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). The WBENC is dedicated to advancing the success of certified women’s business enterprises, government agencies and corporate members in partnership with its affiliated women’s business organizations. As a certified member of the WBENC, CCS is invited to participate in many educational and diversity driven programs as well as qualify for government contracts.
2004 CCS Purchases CPS-Odyssey — Gilroy, CA
With the purchase of CPS-Odyssey of San Jose, CCS acquired two top-notch veterans in the packaging industry, Henry Bray and Barry Armbrecht. Bray has joined the staff in Gilroy and Armbrecht will work out of the Hayward facility.
Both Bray and Armbrecht were employees of Paper Materials of Northern California which became CPS-Odyssey, and is now part of the CCS family.
